Today, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS), 12 certificates were awarded to the first generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Managers in our country. Representatives of the Authorized Educational Center of Austrian Standards presented a plaque to the Center for Digital Transformation (CDT) of PKS, confirming compliance with standards and recognizing the dedication to developing competencies in line with European standards.
"Through the CDT Training Center, we aim to practically transfer knowledge and skills to employees in companies across Serbia, providing them with as much usable material as possible according to the highest global standards, in partnership with Austrian Standards. We adopted their methodology and developed our educational programs," said Predrag Nikolić, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation (CDT).
Nikolić explained that companies in Serbia are increasingly aware that digital transformation is not a matter of choice but an obligation. He noted that the use of artificial intelligence in the Serbian economy is growing, as evidenced by examples from CDT. In about 50 cases, primarily in small and medium-sized enterprises, various AI solutions have been implemented, most often in the trade and tourism sectors, Nikolić mentioned.
Participants of the first generation of the Training Center, CDT consultants, and AI Manager certificate holders, Milan Boričić and Miljan Radunović, shared their experiences with the training and opportunities regarding the initial steps of AI application in Serbia’s economy.
"Until now, it was not possible to obtain this certificate in Serbia — we had to go abroad," Boričić explained, adding that the course, structured in three parts, allowed him to bring new value to his company in collaboration with international clients.
Radunović agreed, stating that even if there were a hundred AI managers in Serbia right now, it would still not be enough given the high demands of the domestic economy.
Today, CDT also presented its capabilities as a reference body for competency certification and the implementation of training programs tailored to market needs. Initiatives related to ISO 17024 certification were also announced.
The panel discussion focused on developing key skills such as digital transformation and AI management, with a particular emphasis on how certified competencies can contribute to competitiveness and labor market development in Serbia, in line with European standards.
